Let’s be real: the polished highlight reel isn’t where the real story lives.

The truth—the late nights, the failed attempts, the breakthroughs no one sees—that’s what Behind the Hype is all about. This new series is your backstage pass to the building of Varsity Hype and everything that happens off-camera, on the field, and in between the lines.

Every few weeks, I’ll pull back the curtain and share:

• What we're building and why it matters

• Feature sneak peeks before they drop

• Stories from our community that remind us why we do this

• Tips and hacks to get the most out of the platform

• Lessons learned (sometimes the hard way) from running a sports tech company

To be honest, this whole idea started after I found an old journal from the early Varsity Hype days—full of half-baked ideas, wins we barely celebrated, and a lot of “what are we even doing?” moments. Reading it brought me back to the beginning: two guys with a dream, a busted camera, and a belief that youth sports deserve better. We’ve come a long way, but the heart of it hasn’t changed.

That’s what Behind the Hype is about. It's not polished. It’s not always pretty. But it’s real. And it’s where the good stuff lives.
